đź”´Cradle of Filth mit Veit Laurent Kurz

nur fĂĽr Incom-Mitglieder

Cradle of Filth developed gradually, without a fixed outline. It began with fragments — observations from daily movement through the city, reflections on the body, recurring thoughts about contamination — and slowly gathered theoretical and architectural layers around them. The text does not proceed as a linear argument but as an accumulation.

At its center lies a tension: between filth as material presence and filth as projection; between transgression as philosophical concept and transgression as lived sensation. Encounters with figures such as Georges Bataille and Pierre Guyotat appear less as citations than as pressure points — sites where questions of excess, exposure, and the limits of the subject become difficult to abstract.

The text moves between interior and exterior spaces: the body, the car, the street, the gallery, the institution. It considers how contemporary art frames danger, how it permits gestures of extremity within controlled environments, and how this containment alters the meaning of transgression itself. What remains of risk once it is housed, insured, curated?

Throughout, “filth” resists metaphor. It accumulates — physically, psychologically, socially. It becomes both threat and structure, something to be avoided and something that shapes perception. The cradle in the title is therefore ambiguous: it suggests origin and protection, but also enclosure. Whether filth is something we produce, inherit, aestheticize, or attempt to neutralize remains deliberately unresolved.
